Does the 2020 Hyundai Veloster Make a Practical Buy?

The 2020 Veloster is a hatchback from Hyundai that boasts of dishing out a dash of sheer practicality. That claim itself made us curious to know if it is true. We didn’t waste much time pondering over the idea and reached the doorstep of the Inland Empire Hyundai dealership showroom. On the spot the cordial staff members suggested us to take a test drive and we were right there inside the base model of the 2020 Hyundai Veloster. Our drive with it reminded us of all the zippy sports cars we have driven so far, as we had with it genuine fun like driving on tracks.

First Impression

At the first instance itself we had to admit, that in the era of crossovers, Hyundai did dare to continue its production of hatchbacks, and it truly left us contemplating, if it is only the craze that is making the crossover steal the show? Driving the new 2020 Veloster almost confirmed our belief, that the old hatchback style was the first step towards practicality that the automotive industry has ever taken. And even today, it is equally useful and practical to buy a hatchback instead of a crossover SUV, unless you always move in large numbers. If we talk about compact crossovers, we found the 2020 Hyundai Veloster to be no less than one. The 2020 Hyundai Veloster that now comes in three different flavors, namely the Base, Turbo, and N makes it clear in its intention that it wants to provide its users everything that a daily commuter should.

A Power Performer

The 2020 Hyundai Veloster lineup is boastful of zippy powertrains that promise to show equal expertise in taking out the family for a road adventure without least of worry.

Even the Base versions get a rigorous 2.0-liter inline-4 engine in combination with either a 6-speed manual or the same speed automatic gearboxes. Then there are Turbo versions of a 1.6-liter turbo-4 engine that can churn out 201 horsepower getting the options to be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The Veloster N is a special trim in the 2020 lineup that is configured only with a manual transmission intertwined with a 2.0-liter turbo-4 engine to raise the horsepower to 275 when you equip it with the Performance package. Otherwise the standard 2020 Hyundai Veloster Turbo versions are able to provide excellently smooth acceleration and nimble handling responses, while its active noise cancellation technology always succeed in keeping the rides reasonably quiet.

Useful and Handy Options

We found the 2020 Hyundai Veloster to be much different from the rest of the lot, in terms of practicality and usability. And we must admit that Hyundai did meet the promises it made regarding this hatchback model. The 2020 edition of Veloster opens up to an easily accessible room because of its extra wide doors that comes at the right ride height. Above that Hyundai has  added an extra rear door to make loading of luggage, pet, or extra passenger easier.

With all these practical and handy features loaded inside the 2020 Hyundai Veloster we too agreed with the opinion of all Inland Empire Hyundai dealerships that it is certainly a smart and practical buy.
